scadenza adesioni il 30-10-2025

On January 12, 2026, I Vini del Piemonte announces the return of the Barolo & Friends event to Vienna for what will be its third edition. Following the success of the previous editions, particularly the sold-out 2025 event for participating wineries, we are ready to repeat the experience and further strengthen the ties between the wine excellences of Piedmont and the dynamic Austrian market.

The event, which will be held at the prestigious Hotel Regina in Vienna, will maintain the established format that has proven effective in creating valuable business opportunities for Piedmontese companies in the Austrian wine sector. The event is aimed at both wineries seeking importers and those already established in the market, offering a unique platform to connect with local industry professionals: importers, restaurateurs, sommeliers, journalists, and wine enthusiasts.

The program for the 2026 edition will include:

  • 11:45 AM: Producer arrival at the event.
  • 12:15 PM: Seminar for producers led by Christian Bauer and Director Giulia Novajra.
  • 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Masterclass reserved for the trade and professionals.
  • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Walk-around tasting reserved for trade operators.
  • 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Walk-around tasting reserved for a select audience of wine lovers.

The wine market in Austria continues to prove itself mature and sophisticated, with a growing appreciation for wine even among the younger generations. Italian wine maintains its leadership in the Ho.Re.Ca. channel, and Austria, being a country that imports more wine than it produces, offers continuous opportunities for international trade.

Piedmontese wines, with Barolo and Barbaresco at the forefront, enjoy great popularity, and the interest of Austrian consumers is increasingly extending to other regional appellations such as Dolcetto, Barbera, and Grignolino. There remains a strong interest in white wines with protected designations of origin.
