A four-day immersion across the historic Piedmontese hills for instructors and students from the prestigious Dutch academy: a new chapter in forging direct synergies between our producers and the Netherlands.
Scheduled for March 17 to 20, 2027, this immersive educational tour will take participants on an in-depth exploration of Piedmont’s wine heritage across the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato regions. The goal is to give Dutch trade professionals a firsthand experience of iconic appellations such as Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, Roero DOCG, Barbera d’Asti DOCG, or Nizza DOCG.
With this initiative, the Consortium officially launches a strategic partnership with the Amsterdam Wine Academy. Located in the heart of the Dutch capital, the academy is a premier educational hub and an approved program provider for rigorous WSET certifications and Wine Scholar Guild specializations, serving as a key benchmark for high-level beverage education in the Netherlands.
Building a bridge with this institution allows us to connect directly with a qualified network of Dutch sommeliers, buyers, and dedicated wine enthusiasts, while leveraging the academy’s dynamic approach and meticulous commitment to wine education.
For consortium member wineries, this tour represents an exceptional opportunity to build lasting business relationships and personal connections with an attentive and receptive Dutch market. For the Academy, it provides unmatched, firsthand fieldwork and continuing education.
The Dutch delegation will be co-led by the school’s founders, Fransje van Santen and Wouter Aalst, alongside Luca Eula, wine communicator for I Vini del Piemonte.
