I Vini del Piemonte at the Slow Wine Tour U.S.A. 2026

From March 2 to March 9, 2026, I Vini del Piemonte will once again take part in the Slow Wine Tour in the United States, the most successful initiative organized by Slow Food worldwide.

I Vini del Piemonte teams up with Slow Wine again for the American stops of the Slow Wine Tour. The 2026 tour will include three stops in three different US cities:

  • San Francisco, CA (March 2, 2026)
  • Austin, TX (March 4, 2026)
  • New York City, NY (March 9, 2026)

Each stop is aimed exclusively at the trade sector (importers, distributors, journalists, opinion leaders, sommeliers, agents, wine shop owners, restaurateurs, etc.) and is therefore dedicated both to those seeking an importer and to wineries already present in the U.S. market but needing to promote themselves to wine shops, restaurants, and the press.

Together with the wineries selected by the prestigious Slow Wine guide, US industry professionals will have the opportunity to meet a group of producers from the promotion consortium I Vini del Piemonte, who will present a selection of Piedmontese wines, always highly appreciated in the States, where market research highlights a marked tendency toward the consumption of “high quality” wines. Thanks to the partnership, the wineries belonging to the I Vini del Piemonte consortium can participate in the tour even if they are not featured in the Slow Wine guide.

The United States is the number one market in the world for wine consumption and is therefore a fundamental reference point for the export of wine companies. Over the last ten years, wine consumption in the U.S. has increased by 28% in volume, reaching 32 million hectoliters, and Italy, with an overall market share of 32.4%, equal to over 2.5 million hectoliters, remains the main wine supplier in this market of primary importance: a sign that our country enjoys a very high reputation among American consumers (Source: Nomisma Wine Monitor).

THE MEANING OF THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN SLOW FOOD AND I VINI DEL PIEMONTE

Slow Food was born almost thirty years ago in Piedmont. Its headquarters, despite the exponential growth of members worldwide and the spread of Carlo Petrini’s ideas across the globe, remains in Bra, a small Piedmontese town. Its heart still beats in Piedmont, and the first events were held specifically on the region’s wine. Therefore, it is natural that Slow Food chose I Vini del Piemonte as a partner, a strong and cohesive group of excellent wineries, founded in 2010 with the aim of enhancing and best communicating the richness and particularity of the various denominations of Piedmont, a world leader in the quality of its wines. Driven by a true “team spirit,” I Vini del Piemonte in recent years has based all its activities on the belief that jointly promoting the excellence of Piedmont’s wine production can be the true winning weapon for presenting themselves effectively in various global markets.
