8 June 2023: the Børsen palace will host the fourteenth edition of the main wine tasting event in Denmark
Undisputed reference for Danish sector professionals and wine lovers, the Barolo & Friends Event, organized by the promotion consortium I Vini del Piemonte, is scheduled for Friday, June 8 at the Børsen, seventeenth-century palace and historical headquarters of the Stock Exchange, among the best known and prestigious buildings of the Danish capital.
The event is aimed at both imported wineries and companies looking for an importer in Denmark and over 200 highly profiled professionals (importers, ho.re.ca, press) and 800 wine-lovers are expected in separate sessions.
During the event, two in-depth masterclasses aimed at Danish professionals will be held, the first one dedicated to Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG, while the second one will be a “vertical tasting” of Colli Tortonesi Derthona Timorasso DOC. Both Masterclasses will be led by wine educator Thomas Ilkjær, head of the Vinakademiet sommelier school in Copenhagen and author of the most important guide to Italian wines in Northern European countries.
For the 2023 edition there will be a collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vini Colli Tortonesi, which will be present during the walk around tasting and in one of the two in-depth masterclasses.
For this fourteenth edition, the participation of more than 35 wine producers from the main wine-growing areas of Piedmont is expected. Producers will personally attend to present their labels to operators and wine lovers, who, for years, have shown knowledge and deep love for Piedmont, not only for its great wines but also as their favorite holiday destination.
In order to promote the Piedmontese tourist offer, the regional tourist board Visit Piemonte will offer a tasting of wines and typical products aimed at Danish journalists and tour operators, in collaboration with the local tourist boards Turismo Torino e Provincia, Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, Azienda Turistica Locale del Cuneese and Agenzia Turistica Locale della Provincia di Novara.
The Barolo & Friends Event is also an extraordinary showcase for promoting the agro-food resources of the region, therefore a food area dedicated to Piedmontese excellence will be set up by CEIP – Centro Estero per l’Internazionalizzazione del Piemonte which, in collaboration with the the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Denmark has scheduled a series of BtoB meetings involving a dozen agri-food companies and a group of Danish operators.
