The promotion consortium I Vini del Piemonte arrives in Sofia for a new tasting initiative aimed at promoting Piedmontese excellence in a new market: Bulgaria.

After having touched over the years, through various successful initiatives, many Eastern European markets, today we turn our attention to the Balkan area of which Bulgaria represents an interesting gateway. On the advice of our historic partner Michèle Shah, we record a growing appreciation for Italian wines in the country, but, again, a lack of knowledge of the Piedmontese wine scene. We therefore consider it essential, in order to encourage the entry of Piedmontese companies into this market and support those already present, the creation of a promotion initiative aimed at creating knowledge and curiosity towards the wines of our region, stimulating their demand and diffusion.

The Barolo & Friends event in Sofia, scheduled for Friday 3 June 2022 at the Hilton Hotel in Sofia, is therefore reserved both for Piedmontese companies wishing to enter this emerging market, and for imported ones, and will therefore be aimed at locals operators in the sector, including importers, restaurateurs, sommeliers, journalists, etc. and selected wine lovers. The choice to place the event on Saturday, suggested by the partner, is aimed at allowing access also to professionals from neighboring countries with the aim of making the initiative a commercial and promotional opportunity, not only for the Bulgarian market, but to the neighboring Balkan area.
