Piedmont protagonist at the Slow Wine Tour in the U.S.A.

The consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte and Slow Wine will be together again to present the very best of the Italian and Piedmontese oenology in the United States.

From 4 to 12 March, 2019, I Vini del Piemonte will take part, for the fourth year in a row, to the promotional tour in the United States organized by Slow Wine. This event is the most successful initiative among those organized by Slow Food in the world.

The consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte will represent Piedmont as guest region within this series of events.

Alongside the Italian wine producing companies selected by the prestigious Slow Wine guide, the American sector operators and the wine lovers will have the opportunity to meet some twenty producers members of the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte, who will present a selection of Piedmontese wines, always extremely appreciated in the United States where our region has reached 200 million euros in exports.

The U.S.A. are confirmed as the first wine consumers in the world, with almost 32 million hectolitres consumed in 2016 (source: OIV – The International Organization of Vine and Wine), and Italy, with a total market share of 32.4%, equal to more than 2.5 million hectolitres, remains the main wine supplier in this market of primary importance (source: UN Comtrade).

The Slow Wine Tour will touch the following American cities:

  • 4 March: San Francisco, California – Pier 27 at the Embarcadero
  • 5 March: Portland, Oregon – Castaway
  • 7 March: Denver, Colorado – Ironworks
  • 11 March: New York City – Eataly Downtown
  • 12 March: Boston, Massachusetts – City Winery
