The Excellence of Slow Wine and I Vini del Piemonte in Japan

On November 12th 2018 the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte will be in Tokyo together with Slow Wine, to present the Italian and Piedmontese wine excellence.

Following the success of the events organized together in recent years, the cooperation between Slow Wine and the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte continues with a promotional tour in Asia.

On Monday November 12th 2018 will be the turn of Tokyo, where it is scheduled a tasting event primarily addressed to the sector professionals (importers, dealers, journalists, opinion leaders, sommeliers, agents, restaurateurs etc.). The event “Italy Land of Wine: the beauty of manual skills” is a confirmation after the positive experiences in 2015, 2016 and 2017, with the aim to present the very best wine productions of Italy to the Japanese sector professionals, with a specific focus on Piedmontese wines.

The event will be held at the Happo-en, that will host a walk around tasting and two master classes on Piedmontese wines, led by Isao Miyajima, Ambassador of I Vini del Piemonte in Japan, considered one of the leading experts in wine in the Land of the Rising Sun.

  • h 11.00-17.30 >> Walk Around Tasting reserved for trade operators – Chat Room
  • h 13.00-14.00 >> Master Class reserved for trade operators led by Isao Miyajima: “The Infinity Possibilities of Piedmont”

On the same days there will be two wine dinners: Sunday November 11th, h 19.00, at the La Ciau restaurant and Monday November 12th, h 19.00, at the Pepe Rosso restaurant, both aimed at Japanese wine lovers.

Japan, fourth wine importer in the world in terms of value, represents an extremely interesting market: the GDP per capita is much more higher than the Italian one; moreover, Japanese consumers are definitively more prepared as far as wine is concerned and consider extremely important that wine represents a territory and its peculiarities. In this, Italian wines take a clear advantage, also thanks to the fact that in Japan there is a great enthusiasm for everything coming from our country.
