Barolo & Friends arrives in Germany

October 31st, 2016: I Vini del Piemonte in Hamburg for the first edition of its main event in Germany.

Germany is one of the largest wine importers in the world and for Italy it is second only to the US market. Even if it is not growing, the German one is a quite interesting market for Piedmont. In Germany, wine is consumed every day, and, in fact, 70% of the bottles are purchased directly by consumers in wineries and wine bars, which are the most important selling channels.

Taking into account all these premises, the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte organized the first German edition of the Barolo & Friends Event in Hamburg. The event took place on Monday, October 31st, 2016, in the prestigious Nord Event Panoramadeck and it was organized in partnership with CIA, Confederazione Italiana degli Agricoltori, in cooperation with Michèle Shah srl.

The programme included a B2B session dedicated to the sector professionals (importers, distributors, journalists, restaurateurs, wine bar owners, etc.) carefully selected according to a real interest for the Piedmontese wine and a session dedicated to the public of local wine lovers. During the B2B session, there was also a Master class for professionals, with a focus on specific topics related to the wines of Piedmont.

Programme

1.00 pm- 8.00 pm >> “Walk Around Tasting” for professionals
1.00 pm- 2.00 pm >> Master class for professionals on the Wines of Piedmont (led by Hendrik Thoma)
5.00 pm- 8.00pm >> “Walk Around Tasting” open to the public
