Barolo & Friends Event: still a hit in Zurich!

On 8th May 2014, i Vini del Piemonte were in Zurich with a format extremely rich in initiatives that will allowed Swiss wine loves to enjoy an exclusive experience in the world of taste and excellence.

The Consortium i Vini del Piemonte has made a stop in Zurich for the fourth edition of the Barolo & Friends Event with an increasingly innovative and experiential programme which allowed the public of Zurich to discover Piedmontese wines through laboratories, in-depth seminars, dinners, and tips on how to match together the very best food products.

Once again, the prestigious Zunfthaus zur Saffran, seat of the guild of food merchants of Zurich, hosted the event that,  as in past events, took advantage of the valuable partnership with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland. The media partner for the event was Vinum, the leading Swiss magazine dedicated to wine.

Great innovation of the 2014 Barolo & Friends Event was represented by the Ethic Lottery: adopt a Food Garden in Africa, a contest that gave the possibility to win holidays in Piedmont, food and wine products, Slow Food publications, tickets for Salone del Gusto, the Taste Fair of Torino, and design objects Alessi: the tickets were on sale for the first time during the Zurich event and part of the revenue will be given to the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity to support the project “10,000 Food gardens in Africa”, a solid model of sustainable agriculture to endorse the different environmental socio-economics and cultural scenarios of the African continent.

Another initiative to make the event even more appealing was the Wine Game Area, a space where everybody has been able to test their knowledge of Piedmontese wines though a set of sensorial games!
