From October 27 to 31, 2026, I Vini del Piemonte will host a group of five European journalists for cellar and vineyard visits and tastings with wine producers from the Canavese, Alto Piemonte, Roero, and Langhe regions.
With the aim of promoting Piedmontese wineries, I Vini del Piemonte and the Consortium for the Protection and Promotion of DOCG wines from Caluso and DOC wines from Carema and Canavese and the Consortium for the Protection of Nebbioli from Alto Piemonte are organizing a press tour for a group of five high-level European journalists specializing in the wine sector from various European countries
The journalists were selected in countries important to the Piedmontese wine market, where the promotion consortium has been active for years.
The initiative will be held from October 27 to 31, 2026, with an original and diverse program, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy an authentic experience, appreciating the richness of different Piedmont’s wine regions.
The first two days will be dedicated to I Vini del Piemonte member producers from Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero, with visits to the local area, wineries, and in-depth masterclasses focusing on the local areas. The tour will then move to Canavese with a third day entirely dedicated to the names of the Consortium for the Protection and Valorization of DOCG Wines Caluso, Carema and Canavese DOC, rich in views, tastings and insights. The fourth and final day will be entirely dedicated to the Consortium for the Protection of Nebbioli of Alto Piemonte, for an in-depth look at the names and territories of this incredible production area of our region.
The program will be offered to journalists as an exclusive tour of one of the most iconic wine regions in the world and will be a true full immersion in Piedmontese flavor and excellence.
Kari Brovall (SWEDEN)
Wine writer and narrator. His love of wine inspired him to help wineries maximize the potential of their products and stories. It was nominated for the Wine Travel Awards in the Food & Wine Influencer / Expert Opinion category in 2024, 2025 and 2026. He is also an international member of the expert jury of the Wines of Portugal Challenge 2026, tasked with evaluating tasting flights and selecting gold medal winners. He also received important recognition at the Vinoinfluencers World Awards.
Kim Bretov Jakobsen (DENMARK)
Journalist and publisher for almost 40 years, first in the weekly sector and later as a freelance specialist in the world of wine. He runs the blog Vinstyrke2 and writes reviews and articles about wine for the monthly magazine Liebhaverboligen. His interest in wine began 30 years ago: over the years he has studied and traveled extensively in various wine regions, written a large number of articles on wine, food, and travel, and produced hundreds of reviews. He describes himself as an experienced and open-minded taster, always curious about wines he hasn’t had the opportunity to taste yet.
Alexander Lupersböck (AUSTRIA)
Renowned Austrian wine journalist, critic and expert in the wine sector. He has an unconventional career path that has led him to become one of the most authoritative names in German-language wine journalism: having entered the wine sector in 1996 through the wine trade, he has been working as a freelance journalist since 2006. He has collaborated with wein.pur magazine and since 2021 has been editor of the prestigious multilingual platform wein.plus. In 2000 he achieved WSET Level 4.
Jan Eggers (GERMANY/DENMARK):
CEO and founder of the Cool Climate Wine Summit, an international trade fair held in Copenhagen, Warsaw, and London for winemakers in cold climates. It also organizes the German wine festival and a sparkling wine festival in Denmark’s two largest cities, Copenhagen and Aarhus. Jan is a qualified sommelier and is currently studying for his WSET diploma. One of his personal projects involves tasting all 1,368 grape varieties described in Robinson/Harding/Vouillamoz’s book Wine Grapes, posting tastings and producer interviews on YouTube, Spotify, and other industry channels.
Alessandra Piubello (ITALY):
Veronese journalist, writer, and food critic, the first woman to edit Veronelli’s Guida Oro I Vini. An independent wine company, it collaborates with prestigious Italian and international publications such as Decanter, Civiltà del bere, Pambianco Wine&Food, WineNews, and L’Espresso Ristoranti d’Italia. A judge in the world’s most important wine competitions and a professional taster, she has always been committed to promoting wine culture.
