From June 20th to 22nd 2018, I Vini del Piemonte came back to Norway with a three-day promotional event addressed to trade professionals and consumers in Oslo, Bergen and Ålesund.
I Vini del Piemonte has always considered the Scandinavian area as particularly interesting. Therefore, for many years, it has constantly been present in Norway, one of the most important markets as far as the consumption of top quality wines is concerned. And here Piedmont is in second place for numbers of bottles of red wine exported. Here is why from June 20th to 22nd 2018 a new promotional tour has involved 15 Piedmontese producers in different events in Oslo, Bergen and, for the first time, in Ålesund.
The kick off has been in Oslo, Wednesday June 20th with a day of BtoB meetings. Following a pre-arranged schedule, the representatives of six wine producing companies met ten importers who were looking for Piedmontese products. Each meeting lasted about 15 minutes, according to the “speed tasting” formula.

Always on Wednesday June 20th in Oslo there has been the “Festival Piemonte”, an innovative event to celebrate Piedmontese wine and food products: in the first part of the day there was a tasting with music and traditional dishes, with 8 wine producers who personally presented their labels and a tasting counter run by the sommelier Sandro Minella with the wines of 25 Piedmontese producers. Then, there was a wine dinner, during which Sandro Minella guided the guests to the discovery of 4 courses to match with the wines of 4 Piedmontese producers.

The following day, Thursday June 21st, the “Festival Piemonte” moved to Bergen, where a rich buffet dinner was held, with 2 wine producers who personally presented their labels and a tasting counter run by the sommelier Sandro Minella with the wines of 7 Piedmontese producers. A DJ provided the musical entertainment for the entire dinner.

Finally, on Friday June 22nd there was the first edition of the Barolo & Friends Event in Ålesund, maritime capital of Norway and city symbol of the Scandinavian tourism. The event included a session reserved for sector professionals, a session open to final consumers and two in-depth Master Classes.
