18 November 2020: the consortium of promotion will organize, for the second year in a row, a promotional event in the Irish capital, with sessions dedicated to operators and consumers
After the excellent results of the first edition, on Wednesday 18 November 2020, the consortium of promotion I Vini del Piemonte will return to Dublin for a tasting initiative that aims at promoting the Piedmontese producers in a very interesting market. In fact, the market here has been constantly growing in the last ten years, together with the appreciation for the Italian wine and food production.
The participation in the event is reserved for wine producing companies, members of I Vini del Piemonte, and will include both those who are already imported in Ireland and those looking for an importer. Two separate sessions will take place: one for sector operators and one for the public of Irish wine lovers.
In addition to the walk around tasting, one or more in-depth master classes will be organized for the invited sector operators.
As there is no national production, the wine market in Ireland is all related to imports: it has developed over the past 50 years but it has started to grow at a consistent rate since 1990s. Even in the recent years, despite the crisis, wine consumption has continued to grow albeit at very mild rates: currently in Ireland some 90 million litres of wine are sold every year and, in value, and imports amount to some 270 million Euros (data ilmercatodelvino.it).
